Default Subwoofer help??

I am debating on changing out my current subwoofer, mirage fx-8 for a Kef PSW2150. I have the specs listed below and wanted to get some thoughts n this matter. thanks

PSW 2150 specifications
Design Powered subwoofer
Drive unit Slot Port design 10 in. (250 mm)
Frequency range 30 Hz - 140 Hz
Amplifier 250 W
Maximum output (SPL) 110 dB
Internal volume 40.4 litres
Weight 40.7 lbs (18.5 kg)
Dimensions
(H x W x D) 16.5 x 15.0 x 15.8 in.
420 x 380 x 400 mm
Finishes Black

The FRx-S8
incorporates its own discrete 100 watt MOSFET amplifier with an 8" heavy-duty woofer. Frequency response ranges between 29 and 150 Hz, ensuring a seamless blend between the bass output of the subwoofer and the mids and highs of the satellites.

^ kef is not a cheap brand. For the $$ you are better off going with a Dr Hsu sub from partsexpress.com

Yes - there are some times when I wouldn't dream of buying a sub from speaker manufacturers - i.e., I wouldn't buy a sub from B&W - there are better choices for the money out there. What's the price range, moth?

((Don't worry, I'm not going to just throw out "eD a2-300! OMG" out there until I hear what you're looking for))

I am getting a good deal on the Kef 200$$ Its used but in a 8/10 condition. Will this improve my sound compared to the mirage? thanks. So my only options are the above mentioned otherwise i was just going to stay with the mirage if there was no difference. thanks

On the surface, a change in brand and maybe a little more power, but the driver staying at 8" isn't worth the money. If your upgrading go up to 10", at least.

just installed the PSW2150 and man a world of difference over the mirage FX-S8. Its alot fuller sounding base in the room now. I thought the 8inch bumped but this is a new world. thanks and the KEF set up is complete for now. This sub blends perfect with the 2005.2 sats...
