Thumbs up MonoPrice cables arrived today.....

I have to say I'm impressed. I ordered an HDMI to DVI converter cable and three sets of rca cables for the 7.1 analog out in the Sony S550 and these are very robust cables. I still cannot beleive I got them so cheap. I was comparing them to my monster cables and they are alot thicker. These cables are 2x thicker than the ones for sale at Best Buy for 6x+ the price. That website is a real goldmine. I'm estimating 73$ saved in cables alone.

After hooking everything up I have to say that my Panasonic 53" crt has never looked this good! The 7.1 sound is really nice form the analog outputs, and the upconversion job it does to 1080/60i is really stunning. I was watching a standard DVD of "The Matrix II" this evening in 1080/60i, and had no idea the difference it could make, although I have to say it made the CGI fight scenes look more computer annimated than watching it in 480p.

Thank you to everyone here on the forums that helped me figure out what the hell I was doing. After hooking up all the cables and getting the converter HDMI cable (replacing the component cables), every standard DVD upconverts now - flawlessly. And the Sony S550 does it extreamly well.

Thanks again guys!
