Default Post here if you just bought into Blu this Black Friday

Yeah I know - technically this would be a better choice for the newbie forum, but I think the occasion warrants it.

If you just bought your first player and movies, tell your story here!

Almost pulled the trigger on this, but I think with the decline in consumer credit limits nationwide, I think Holiday spending will be at record lows...which should make for some awesome post x-mas deals.

Looking at a 52" Sony HDTV 120hz + Sony BluRay 2.0 player as well as a speaker system. Large purchase so I want to wait for the marke to hit bottom...drooling at all the BluRay eye candy though...going into Costco is severely tempting

Might as well do it now. Nothing wrong with consumer credit/spending from what I saw today. I don't think I saw one bill of cash either. I did see LOTS of people buying LOTS of tv's, games, movies, gaming systems, computers and the like.

Not this year, but last year this was the case for me.

I did pick up the Sony S350 player today, however, so this is my first stand-alone player purchase (already had a plyer on my Vaio laptop).

Yeah, people shouldn't shop when they feel blue. It leads to overspending. The recent downturn may lead to increased substance abuse, too, which also leads to overspending.

Sony BD-S350 at K-Mart for $179.

But it was Thanksgiving morning. Yeah, they started their sale a day early to beat the rush. So what's that? White Meat Thursday?

Well, I did go with my brother in law to Best Buy at 11 am, and he was lucky enought to get a Sony S350 for $199. They had ran out of Samsung BD 1500 and decided to sell the Sony for $199. Helped him pick some Blus too.

My dad bought a Samsung BD-P2550 today from Best Buy, for himself. I am very proud of him. Although I kept convincing him to get a PS3 but he insisted that he didn't want a game console in his home theater.

My sister and I are going to get him the Bond box sets for Christmas. Might also get him the Godfather set if we can find a decent deal.

As someone that works in retail, the store I work at was up 52% compared to Black Friday last year.

Granted, my store could be an anomaly. But it does say something...

Default In-Laws are Blu

Just took my in-laws to BB for a 50" 1080p Sammy Plasma and a Samsung BDP-1500 to go with it. That is one stimulus check well spent.

They are already amazed at the picture, tomorrow I hook up the surround sound to blow them away.

My store was also up about 60% over last year! What recession? That's what the government wants us to think........
