Where did he purchase the PS3 from? It says in the fine print you MUST purchase it from a Sony authorized dealer: "To qualify for the $150 card credit, you MUST purchase a PLAYSTATION 3 system with your new PlayStation Card ("PS3 Purchase") at an authorized Sony retailer such as Sony Style store and SonyStyle.com. Just looked at the link and it says you have to buy the PS3 from SonyStyle.com to qualify. Plus it says they have a bonus offer with Blu-rays where you buy one get one free (only until December 31st though).

Wonder if this will be available in the UK?

This worked for me last spring when I applied for the card and then made the purchase of the SonyStyle. Although back then it was only $100 off and I paid $299. Also, during the early and/or middle days of the week there is usually free shipping.

no offense but your dad failed at reading or something. not only have i successfully done this but referred 4 friends who all got the same deal months back. unless things have changed it still should work. free shipping but i had to pay tax.

no offense taken.. not sure what happened w/ his purchase.. i guess the moral is to ensure you meet all the criteria .. just not sure if that has changed since this deal started..

My friends and I just ordered our ps3 from sonystyle.com webstore for 399.99. on our first statement it shows the -150 so total was 267 or something including tax. If he hasn't opened this "unqualified" ps3 he could still return it and use the deal. Hope this helps

in most cases yes, however it may take some time if you are near the edge...

true, when i apped they gave me the card # info and security code etc instantly. i was able to use this for my purchase within minutes of applying. my friend on the other hand recently had applied for one of those retail store cards i think from express or something a week before applying for this sony card. it took weeks for them to process the application because of those recent credit app flags. depends on your situation.
