SAMSUNG 50" DLP 1080p

Samsung 50" DLP 1080p - $899/sale price

Model# HL50A650C1FXZA - on sale at a local place (Bernie's - RI)

Was wondering if anyone knows if this is a decent TV (contrast ratio: 2500:1) for a poss. purchase of mine. Currently my 50" Samsung (floor model I picked up earlier this year for $800, but is just 1080i) works fine, but I don't know if I should wait or grab this one (?).

Any info would be appreciated.

i also have 50" 720p sammy dlp, by my 56" 1080p dlp is my baby. i feel that the price of a 50" 1080p dlp should be below $800. $1k @ amazon seems a bit high considering i could have purchased a 52" 1080p sammy lcd series 6 for about $1500k the other week.

i'd wait till the week of x-mas before i pull the trigger. the price of my 1080p dlp came down in price dramatically the week of x-mas 2006. or if you can wait till super bowl time, it is the next best time to buy a tv.

Hi -- the $999 is what Amazon was Currently showing yes, but I think maybe you missed the Title heading I had. This place in Rhode Island (Bernie's) has the one in question on sale this wk-end for $899 (then of course, the 2-yr service plan would be another $200-250 prob.).
