Default need helping finding a blu-ray player

not sure if this is the right place for this so i am sorry in advance. anyway, my current player is a brick. it will play dvd's, but at the moment i'm wanting to play my x-files blu-rays. so i am looking at getting a new blu-ray player. it will have to be under $200 because i can't afford one otherwise at the moment. i've searched best buy, walmart, target, and amazon. i didn't find anything on best buy, target, or walmart. but i did find some stuff on amazon. here's the ones i'm looking at:

sony:

bdp-s550
bdp-s300 (also found it used on sony's site for under $200 and it comes with a 2 or 3 year warranty which is extra)
bdp-s301

panasonic:

dmp-bd30k
dmp-bd10ak

sharp aquos bdhp2ou
philips bdp7200
samsung bd-p1400

i also found a samsung bd-p1500 at a local store for $199. but that is a display model with some wear and tear that tested functional. you can get a 1-year protection buyer plan for it though. the point behind this thread is to get people's opinions of what a good blu-ray player and which ones i should look at and which ones i shouldn't look at. i don't want to end up with a lemon. i haven't looked on ebay yet. but i will. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I would suggest that you look at the newer players the Panasonic 35K/55K and the Sony 350/550.

that i don't know yet. at the moment it's not being hooked up to anything but the tv, as i can't afford all that high end stuff. christmas though is around the corner and santa may be bringing me all that stuff (receiver and all). but don't ask me what because that stuff goes over my head.

that's nice, but they're entirely out of my price range. it has to be under $200. my name isn't daddy warbucks.

He clearly said it could be had for $179 on "BLACK FRIDAY".

Samsung doesn't necessarily have a good reputation as BR players. Get a Sony or Panasonic.

yes, but it's not black friday and that doesn't do me any good now does it? i'm going to try and find some cleaner for the blu-ray player, as i'm fairly certainly my reader is messed up on the current one. i hate to buy a new one if i can help it. plus i actually love my samsung player. if i get another one i may end up with a samsung again. they're fantastic.
