Default Question about shipping BD Player from Amazon

Hey guys. I just ordered a Panasonic DMP-BD35K from Amazon. I do not have Prime (I don't order enough from them to warrant spending $75 per year) and asked for Free Super Saver Shipping.

Can anyone tell me how they pack the player? I mean, they don't just ship it in it's original box do they? Seems like it may be kinda fragile. Or more so than say a pack of DVDs.

On a side note, I ordered my Onkyo receiver from them and a subwoofer and both came flawless.

I suppose I should have asked this question before I bought it... Anyway, any comfort for this poor soul?

When they shipped me my Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player from Amazon last month, there were two boxes- The original Sony box inside a larger brown box with a little bit of packing paper inside to keep it from moving around. My unit was not damaged, so I guess it was adequate. No prime for me and I used super saver shipping.

My PS3 came in a big box with some packaging inside to protect the box. The packaging wasnt the issue to me but the fact that FedEx didnt require a signature for a 400 dollar item and didnt even knock on my door, which comes down to Amazon not requiring them to do so since the box didnt say anything about the contents. I do have Prime so I dont think that has anything to do with it, so just make sure your home when its supposed to come.

Both UPS and FedEx do this, and it annoys me to no end, it is like I have to guess when my stuff is outside, and I live on a pretty busy street so anyone could walk up to my house and pick the boxes up and walk off if i am not there, or just don't know they have delivered anything
