My new 7.1 audio cutts out ?!? - Blu-ray Forum

I recently bought this setup .. http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=392206
and im having a very bad audio problem.. im watching movies such as jumper, Hancock, tropic thunder, and the audio will cut out for a couple of seconds and come back.. i also try rewinding it and it sometimes plays the sound but i tried for jumper at least 4 times rewind and the same part cuts out the audio???? $800 seems more like $8.00... any suggestions? never used updates..

I am having a similar problem with certain dvds on my new 7.1 receiver.Blu-rays are fine, but with two diff movies on dvd ( both with dts-es) I noticed quick bursts of cutouts in certain scenes.

They sure don't list much in their specifications. Ya know, I was in Sam's and heard this thing from the other side of the warehouse. I went over to see what it was. I can't say as far as the audio quality (boomy but hey, we're in a warehouse) but it sure was loud.

Cutouts would either be a bad connection, bad processing or overheating/shorting out kind of thing I would think. Since you're reproducing the same cutouts most times when you rewind it, I doubt it's wiring, but make sure you start there. Check everything and make sure no wires are touching each other or the other terminals and causing it to short. Make sure the HDMI (using that for audio, right?) is snug. How loud are you listening to it? Does it happen at lower volumes? Are there any firmware updates available for this unit?

Honestly... I would consider returning it and going another route for lossless audio, but that's just me.
