Default quality control problems with JBL subwoofer's?

has anyone had problems With JBL subwoofer's

first of all,i just bought the jbl Es Series 150P,rms power 300 watts & peak dyamic power 500 watts,10'' inch

turned up the bass watching Close in Encounters with the third kind, when the Ufo passes over with the huge bass..

OH my god,i hear the worst rattling sound ever and i hoped it wasn't the sub it's self killing it's self,Nope...it Wasnt!!

the damn Plastic Sub woofer port wasn't fully Glued and Down in the Sub Box,so one side was just rattling away like a damn PAPER card on a Bike Wheel!!....so that means i have to fix it myself with Super glue down on the edge's and hold it in while it Drys....GRRR...so right now i'm holding the damn port in with the sub sitting on top of a piece of foam to it so it wont rattle insanely bad

it doesn't end there,I Opened the Box and guess what next?...
the sub has no Gillie and it's just out in plain view

i think the problem of this all is quality control, yeah the sub woofer sounded awesome in the store, just these two minor problems,a bit disappointed in JBL And i'd thought i'd like the Readers here to know

Anyone Know Why it didn't come with a grill over the woofer?,at first i thought the Dealer sold me a used subwoofer, more looking at the box i thought "nah, doesn't look like the tape's being tore off the paper box before"

so i do not know whats up

JBL is part of Harman International, a very reputable company. JBL speakers are used in many commercial theaters. I am a bit puzzled.

You can make your sub sound a lot better with less than $20 to $30. Open it up and add dampening sheets and poly-fill to it. Make sure the port is attached properly. Use gasgeting tape to attach the driver back to the enclosure. Read the thread Building a Subwoofer and Upgrading Speakers. It has a sticky under Speaker Discussion.

it has poly fill in it ,i see it sticking around the side's while i was tipping over and investigating why there was so much rattle in it,only to discover the port it's self on one side has no glue and it bouncing off the box when it starts hitting the low's..

You think its best to try repair it and super glue the loose side down of the port???...it's so tight in there on the other side while this one part is all Loose.
im really thinking of calling the dealer and explaining the number of issues im having with it.

what do you think?

If it is still under warranty, they are responsible. If the warranty has expired, accuse them of selling sub-par equipment. I have subwoofers that are 20 years old and still work without any major problems.

Sorry you had problems. I have been using a JBL powered sub for the last 8 years with no issues what so ever and it was a refurb unit.
