I'm thinking about putting Linux on my PS3. What distributions can I use and how can I get the disc?

Sony has made an option in the XMB menu to install other operating systems.[79] Among other Linux distributions, Ubuntu, Fedora Core 5, Gentoo, Debian, and Yellow Dog have been run on the PS3

Some of those you can buy an physical dsik for and most of them you can download via bittorent.

not really. I don't go online on PSN so often. other people might deserve it more than I. I leave those spot for the other. I am not an extreme gamer (I am extreme to RPG and fighting game though).
Besides I only own Japanese PS3 and UK PS3. So, I can't connect to american server of some games. (Resistance and RR7, I only met Japanese people, haven't tried to go online on my UK PS3)

Use ubuntu. Yellow dog is horrible. It's still work to get wireless ethernet, and the blu tooth controller working, but good instructions can be found at www.psubuntu.com

OMG, should I make my Japanese PS3 run ubuntu, while my UK PS3 runs Yellowdog? Confused.... Currently I install YDL in UK PS3, and I have a failed installation in my JPN PS3
