I just loaded ubuntu linux on my ps3 and i want to change my resulution settings. Its stuck at 576x384 and i want to set it to either a 1080i setting or 720p type setting do i have to download a update to do this?

That is probably the best place to start looking. There's a bunch of stuff about ps3videomode in there, and the best ways to fine tune it. Just be careful tweaking resolutions, not sure if TVs can be overloaded like computer monitors can.

Thanks I got it set now everything is done. I now have a working linux computor for the price of a new keyboard and mouse.

i have YDL 6.0. can i just use a cordless mouse?

ydl 6.0 took about 30-40 minutes start to finish.

usb took about 2 seconds to plug in.

applications are slow to launch (comparing to my Vaio VGN-FZ285U laptop), but then run very smoothly.

i get a lot of e-mail from friends with the "Sent from my iPhone" signature. i use Thunderbird and blast back with "Sent from my Playstation 3 running Linux"

I am using a logitech keyboard and mouse sow in a wierd way i just got a computor for forty dollars. The Ps3 is a amazing machine no doubt about it.
