Default Panasonic DMP-BD35K to Onkyo HT-S5100 to TV not working, HELP!

I am having trouble getting my Panasonic DMP-BD35K (blu ray) to feed to my TV VIA the HDMI pass through ports on my Onkyo HT-S5100. I get the sound just fine (via optical), but the image is mostly blank and then just sort of flashes a color now and then like its trying to work. The blu ray works fine hooked up straight to the TV via HDMI.
I have read manual on the HDMI setup thrice, updated the firmware, and tried a ton of stuff. I have even set up the cable box via HDMI and it works fine. I tried swapping the cables from the cable box and plugged them in BD player and the the same thing, no picture, but sound.
My current TV only does 740p so I down graded the HDMI output on the blu ray, but still the same.
I have since just hooked up the Blu ray to the Onkyo to the TV with composite cable, but I want to solve this before I get my 1080p TV.
I would love any help, thanks!
