Lets face it Blu Ray has just started gaining traction and all players seem to have 1 problem or the other. I suspect it will be a few years before all the bugs are worked out entirely. I wouldn't spend a fortune on a player because in a year or so it will be not as good as a player costing less. I bought the Samsung 2550 in spite of reservations I have about its long term reliability (I was always a Sony guy) because it was $250 when purchased with my new Samsung TV. The Sony was $400 and didn't have the Netflix option but it had the onboard DTS decoder. I suspect I will be upgrading my receiver in the not too distant future so that wasn't a huge issue. The Netflix option has been awesome so far and outweighs my reservations. Blu Ray disks are so new and loaded with features that it will take time to make all disks play perfectly on all players because the manufacturers can't possibly play them all and find all the bugs. This reminds me when I went from albums to CD's and the original CDs were awful sounding and the players weren't much better till they upped the oversampling rates. I spent a fortune on a state of the art Sony 707 CD player and it broke and then I exchanged it for a 747 player which at the time was the best but not long after when they raised the oversampling I wound up having to use it as a transport and letting my stereo decode it. It was unlistenable compared to a $100 player a few years later.
