This is a pretty general question to which I haven't been able to find an answer. I have read reviews for quite a few blu-ray players, and occasionally they say the blu-ray image quality is not so good. But I don't see how that can be. If you take a digital image off the disk and transmit it digitally (via HDMI) to your TV, shouldn't the picture be exactly the same for every player? I can understand image differences between DVDs because of the upscaling issues, but not between blu-rays. What causes these image quality differences?
