Default Sony profit predictions unveiled!

Well people who want Sony to go bankrupt are going to have to wait a while!

Link

A six-fold increase in profit, hmm, doesn't sound like a company who are going bankrupt like some HD DVD shills would have us believe.

Well we'll have to update this thread when the final report comes out.

People shouldn't be surprised if the PS3 totals up a loss for the fiscal year. PS2 and PSP revenues should offset that for a bit. Big profits are expected to come from the theatrical and merchandizing part of SPE.

Spiderman 3 will be a huge earner, it is the most anticipated film since the third LOTR, I think it will be bigger than ROTK, putting the franchise at Star Wars type levels.

I hope we get a good actor for SM4 if Tobey Maguire leaves, Jake Gyllenhaal would be pretty good.

SPOILER ALERT

I hear that SM4 is going to concentrate on the Lizard storyline, that would be awesome!

END SPOILER

A couple of months or so ago, I recall seeing a headline in the business section where Sony's stock had jumped something like 6 percentage points in a day for some reason or another. I remember posting it somewhere and saying something like: "So much for Sony being in dire straits." So did some other people.

Man, I wish I were a day trader and I'd been on it that day!

I had heard on the radio the other day, that he had announced that he wouldn't be doing any more spiderman movies (toby mcguire). Supposedly he and his wife had a baby girl and they are moving to Oregon. He said he doesn't want his daughter to grow up in hollywood. The way they made it sound, was that he was giving up acting altogether, but I find that hard to believe.

Spidey 3 earnings will only be reflected next year. What will show up is Ghost Rider.

It actually came down to Maguire and Gyllenhall. The studio liked Gyllenhall. Raimi liked Maguire which lead to the film test that was included on the DVD.

What is funny about that is her father is Ron Meyer who is one of the big guys that runs Universal.
