Any news on when Left 4 Dead is coming on the PS3? - Blu-ray Forum

I know EA wants to bring it on the PS3 and Valve has finally woken up to the fact that the PS3 will be around forever.

I'm almost positive it's a 360 exclusive. Esp. since Valve HATES the PS3. They didn't even put Half Life on the PS3, another company did it for them.

Yeah god forbid they put some work into bringing it over to the ps3. I mean I hear all this praise for Valve but then I also hear they are too lazy to bring it to the ps3? I know some people hate the lazy developer excuse, but isn't that what it really is? You don't want to work a bit harder to bring your product out to more consumers? Sounds lazy to me....but I don't know jack about developing games so...meh...it would be awesome to have this game on the ps3. I love everything zombies.

There have been rumors that it's coming, but nothing solid YET. My guess is that it'll be on PS3 eventually.

I've only played the demo so far, but it seems to be a pretty unique and fun game.

I mainly use my PS3 for Blu Rays but I have a few games for it and L4D is an awesome game. As for it coming to PS3 it might you never know Bioshock and Lost Planet were bot 360 exclusives awhile back.

I understand that it's a great online multiplayer game, but why pay the price of a full game on a 360 ($60ish) when it has literally close to 0 single player experience as well, and a limited amount of content for the multi as well?

Imo, if what I have read about it is true, L4D is a half baked game with a very good premisce that has been overhyped by the reviewers given the great online experience (if limited).

4 Maps. 4 Hours of single player. 2 maps only useable in versus mode (but Valve promising more).

Great...

A PS3 and a PC for these kinds of games is really all you need imo.

It also has local splitscreen mp.

Its worth it for that alone.

Its metacritic score is 89. That's probably what I would give it. Not quite a 90.

Regarding the sp-you can run through each scenario fairly quickly, but you can also get a lot more out of it if you want to-exploring all the rooms etc. Plus, there is a considerable variation in item/enemy placements on each runthrough.

Plus you can play as a zombie in MP. That alone is worth the price of admission. (hmm, I repeat myself)

Right, well, Orange Box is. But the port was not done in-house by Valve. Gabe Newell has publicly stated that he thinks the PS3 is a stupid design and will not be making games for it.

EA published Orange Box for Valve and apparently had a little more influence than just that----they carted Orange Box off to an external European dev team who ported Orange Box to PS3 on their own.

You want zombie games, you can look toward Dead Island + Dead Rising 2 in the near future.
