Default 60s/70s TV releases?

Any one know of older TV releases being released to Blu Ray, like Lost in Space or old sitcoms like Mary Tyler Moore, etc?

Lost in Space, I think, was shot on film. MTM looks like film. Not sure about Starsky and Hutch.

I think it would be awhile before we even see any 60/70's shows on Blu but I would love Battlestar Galactica.

From what people have said on here, Sanford and Son was shot on video tape. They also said that it probably couldn't look any better.

I'm a huge 'Lost in Space' fan, but I don't think we'll see a Blu release any time soon. You will see the three Star Trek seasons that's for sure, since they have all been fixed and remastered in 1080p.

I would love for the 60's Batman TV series to come out on Blu-ray, even DVD. But there's a long story behind why it may never happen. Here's the brief low-down on why it hasn't happened yet, from TV Shows on DVD.

Quote:
Fox (who owns the footage) and DC Comics (owner of the characters, ans ister company of Warner Bros.) are still deep in the process of sorting out the legalities and licensing situation for this release. There may be other licenses involved as well, such as music and so forth....We confirmed with the studio at the time that this was still "far from being settled", and that the DVDs were in fact NOT in the works.

At the very least they could take advantage of the 50GB and the popup menus. I remember poor vhs ports in the early days of DVD but I didn't mind as long as they had chapters. The scene search alone was worth the upgrade.

You are LUCKY to get these shows on DVD let alone Blu Ray. FOX is the worst at releasing tv shows. So far it has been how many years just for 4 Seasons of Mary Tyler Moore.

So don't hold your breath. If i could get them on DVD I would be happy enough.

Very true. I own all six seasons of Sanford and Son, and would buy them the first day if they were released on blu.
