Optimum will probably have subs, the french disc have none (I'm speaking of the Blu-Ray, not the DVD)

Martyrs is a must own Blu-Ray, hopefully comes a version with subs for non french speaking people.

Ambulances are called during Martyrs screening (NOT a stunt!) watch a guy staggering out at 4:40 and sit aghast on the floor, deep in shock, a woman (not sure anymore if she was pregnant or not) is also having trouble and paramedics are called...

There have been report of people vomiting during the screening, and many walk outs for different reasons (some can't stand the movie, others are too shocked)

Let's make it very clear then: the French Blu-ray release of Martyrs does not offer English subtitles.

For an English friendly release, please look for the upcoming UK Blu-ray disc by Optimum Releasing.

A martyr is who kills themselves for a reason of saving their faith/belief/way of life.

Example - If Saddam Hussein killed himself in order to stop Americans invading Iraq he would be considered a martyr to the people of Iraq, or those that share the same ideal/faith/belief.

As I mentioned above

, the UK disc will be Region-Locked, meaning that it will not play on your US PS3. Obviously, it will have English subtitles.
