Default Last day (at work) of the year

Well it's that time of year again, time to take some vacation. I won't be back at work till Jan 5th

This year we'll be staying home but here's some things we plan on doing:
  • Spending our first Christmas with our son
  • Watching him rip presents open, should make for a good home movie for the grandparents
  • Catching up on family time
  • Playing some games I haven't had a chance to try yet, namely Fallout 3 if I get it for Christmas
  • Watching Christmas Story & Nightmare Before Christmas on Blu
  • Going to a hockey game (double header) Friday / Saturday 26th/27th
  • Cooking my famous Chicken Cordon Bleus
  • Working on the basement, hope to get bathroom complete and minibar complete
  • Making my chili for new years

Hope everyone has a great Christmas Holiday. What will you guys be doing?

Nice list Deads3t. I'm also taking some time off. Here is mine, accompanied by the appropriate smiley.

I'm looking forward to spending my 2nd christmas with my daughter. She wasn't really into the 1st, but she is pumped for this one. 1st tricycle on the way!

I am having family over on Christmas day and deep frying a turkey in the back yard.

I plan on watching a lot of good College Bowl games and some good blu's.

I also plan on going to BevMo a few times and drinking a lot of GOOD beer!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Sounds like a wonderful Christmas Deads3t! I've always loved this season, but ever since becoming a step and then a bio-daddy, it's made it even more special

I'm off work until January 6th, so I'll be hanging out at home with my 6, 17 and 19 year olds - which is always a good laugh. I've got around 40 Christmas themed movies and shows that will be in constant rotation - Charlie and Lola's "How Many Minutes 'Til Christmas?" is on right now.

I finished icing my Christmas cake at the weekend (I baked it 2 months ago and have been feeding it brandy every 10 days or so since then) and will be making mince pies, gingerbread men and Christmas cupcakes with my youngest over the next couple of days

We're having my wife's parents and sister's family over on Christmas Day for filet mignon and a few glasses of something nice, and then on Boxing Day the five of us will be having a traditional English Christmas dinner of roast Turkey with all the trimmings (and Christmas crackers), followed by Christmas pudding. The Boxing day soccer program in England is getting blanket coverage on Fox, so I should be able enjoy three of four games over the course of the day!

Likewise, Happy Holidays to you all!!

Wow! 40 movies! I tend to forget some movies I own that have a Christmas theme, such as Love Actually, I know what you're thinking...how could that happen? Someone gladly reminded me in my christmas movie thread. You'll have throw out some ideas for us.

Reading the thread has made me hungry, esp since I skipped breakfast and lunch

Enjoy the time off with your family, it's my favorite time of the year as well. Congrats on the new step dad / bio-dad ( ) I'm going to relish this time off for sure.

Merry Xmas/Happy Holidays - whatever you prefer.

Here's my schedule:

Xmas Eve: working till 5 (boo), leaving to pick up the family and heading to church. going to my parents house for supper and gifts.

Xmas Day: waking up w/the kids and watching my daughter rip her presents apart (she's 3) and hopefully watching my son climb on his (he's 6 months).

going to the in-laws for gifts, swinging through my grandma's on my dad's side for a few hours, then heading to my grandma's on my ma's side (grandpa died in may) for supper and gifts. hopefully keeping grandma company and taking care of her. she's been having a hard year for obvious reasons.

i then have off on 12/26 through 12/29, go to work for 2 days and have off new years day.

oh yeah, i turn 26 on new years eve so i'll be having fun bringing in the new year.

Sounds like a great time. I forgot to mention on Christmas Day we are heading to my wifes parents for lunch, then back home. Should be fun, we'll exchange gifts, we usually get her dad something funny / gag gift. This year it's a Fanny Pack! He's going to Vegas so we thought it's be funny.

Happy B-Day Benny, Bring in the new year with some good champagne, I know I will....Sad that my wife will miss another year of champagne, but we'll have a new baby due late May/ early June so it'll be worth it.

Well there is nothing to do but to wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Me I shall be doing nothing. The Jolly Season is mainly for families and stuff.
