It's suprising to not see a lot about this movie. I think this documentary is a great idea and it's such a heart breaking story.
On November 5th 2001, Dr. Andrew Bagby was shot and killed. The main suspect, Shirley Jane Turner, fled to Canada to avoid prosecution and fought extradition in Canadian courts while free on bail. She then announced that she was pregnant with Andrew's child. In order to get to know the only living part of their son that was left, Andrew's parents when to Canada to meet their son's killer and meet their grandson Zachary. Kurt Kuenne, in order for Zachary to get to know his dad, visited all of his friends and relatives so that they could give him first hand accounts on Andrew's life and hopefully Zachary would understand what his father was like. Kurt set out across the country to make the film and his final destination would be Canada where Zachary and his grandparents resided. On August 17 2003, Shirley killed baby Zachary and herself. This movie is the footage Kurt collected from all of Andrews friends and family along with the story of what was happening. |
