Default Free Blu-Ray Discs at Best Buy

A bit of good news. My local Best Buy is giving away free Blu-Ray disc samplers of the Nine Inch Nails "Beside You In Time" disc. Interestingly enough, there wasn't an HD-DVD version (even though this was released on both formats). Judging by the sticker on the front, it looks like they were definitely targeting this for Blu-Ray only Even though I already own the full disc, I picked up a copy since it was free. Here's a cover scan...

Notice it says Blu-Ray Sampler just under the NIN logo. Sweet!

Nice! It seems they are trying to convince more PS3 owners to buy Blu-ray titles.

This seems to go well with the other things I have seen, where they don't have any video displays of HD-DVD and they still haven't advertised the 2nd gen HD-DVD players online, which have already shipped.

The NIN title had some menu playback issues in HDDVD. That could be why.

Oh, maybe you can dig and find it here:

The actual producer on that disk (for both BR and HDDVD) talks about the problems and issues of working with both formats, if you read on here:

whats funny is, that when I bought the complete NIN blu-ray, they gave me the sampler too, I had assumed that the sampler had extra stuff on it, but it was the same stuff that was on the full version. I guess they got confused.
