Have neem reading a bit about ethernet bridge adapters, gaming adapters and even the netgear xe102 for a wireless solution but I would really like to know about real life experiences from people who are using one of these for their sony 550 connectivity ?
How is the response time ? how stable are the connections? Are there any compatibility issues ? Obviously i would like to narrow down on the cheapest one that does the job for me. Any help in this regard is much appreciated. Thanks Narsi |

Same here. Extremely stable and never had a problem. I'm currently using the Dlink DAP-1522 (4 Gig ports) in bridge mode; previously used the Linksys WET200 (bunsiness model with 5 10/100 ports). Both are a bit more expensive (~$100) but it's cheaper than buying multiple adapters if you need to connect more than one device.

I had a linksys gaming adaptor...and it would for the most part stay connected. The last 2 weeks though, I couldnt get it to connect for the life of me.
I ended up plugging it directly into the router...and it worked. So I would imagine it was a range issue. So..from there I got a linksys bridge. I bought one on Ebay and I couldnt get it to work (after about 2 hrs on an online chat w/ linksys, they came to the conclusion that it was fried). I ended up getting a replacement..today. So I have had no time to check it out. I did also get a linksys wireless n router (I had a G)..so maybe that will help matters. I have been overly frustrated by this whole thing...but we shall see what happens tomorrow. Oh...when I was in Best Buy..the employee in there tried to get me to purchase...I think its call a power extender. I am probably totally wrong on that. Anyways..basically you plug the ethernet cable into the player and the other end into a box, which plugs into a wall outlet. There is another one of those boxes that plugs into the router. Its supposed to give you more of a direct connection to the router. I ended up not buying it, but that is the next option if the bridge does not work. That is my story though...long but true. |
