I wouldn't say Energy is bad- I'm just not sure anyone has one of their subs.

Alot of people own and endorse the eD A2-300 on this forum, because of price to performace ratio. Elemental Designs, HSU, SVS, AV123, and Epik have proven themselves as great performers in that price range. I would look into those.

I don't know about the Energy sub, never heard it or seen any reviews for it. If you like it though, go for it!

Instead of constantly complaining about the eD a2-300 bias, why not offer up your knowledge on what equipment you have and what you like about it? The problem isn't that everyone is eD happy, it's that there not much else that's talked about in this forum in the lower price brackets.
