Default No Nip/Tuck Season 6 on Blu?

I saw in the ads this week that Nip/Tuck season 6 is being released on dvd but not Blu-ray. I have season 5 on Blu, and was looking forward to season 6 on Blu, as I didn't watch it when it was on TV. Did they announce it isn't coming on Blu? It makes me mad when companies do this. This happened with Rescue Me, another FX show, although that was Sony and this is Warner Brothers. After I've bought a season on Blu I'm not going to buy future seasons on dvd.

It's season 5 part one that comes out next. Season 4 was on blu and HD-DVD but didn't sell well. They are just releasing the new one in SD.

Yeah, I meant season 5. I don't get how a company can expect to get good sales from their earlier seasons on Blu. It was released in September 2007. Look at Blu ownership then vs. now. It's not even close. Regardless, looks like I won't be seeing any future Nip/Tuck.

I'm having a hard time with this too....in fact, I'm pretty furious. I will not be buying Season 5 on Standard DVD, and the same goes for "Rescue Me - Season 4", by the way. How can they just stop supporting Blu-ray? Seriously, WTF?

It's true that the proliferation of BD players has greatly increased in the last couple of months so the situation is completely different now. What kind of message does this send to the consumer? A total lack of trust in the new medium.

As a non-US resident, I solely depend on DVD/BD when it comes to TV shows...it's very sad that I won't be able to continue to watch neither "Nip/Tuck" nor "Rescue Me" since I refuse to just switch back to Standard Definition.

This really upsets me since we only just got FX-HD a couple weeks ago. I skipped season 5 to wait to watch it in HD and now I can't.

I refuse to buy the DVD.

Nip/Tuck is owned by Sony. It was never on HD DVD.

You know, they did the same thing with Rescue Me. I won't buy a new season until they put it on Blu-ray.

Your post made me remember something odd I saw a couple weeks ago. Look in the lower right - "Nip/Tuck Season 5 is now available on DVD and HD-DVD."

yeah I REALLY want "Rescue Me" but I won't dish out because of this.
And "NipTuck" too.

Here's to better luck with "Dexter".

Huh, what do you know? It is distributed by Warner. I never saw it available anywhere on HD DVD until now. I figured it was the same as Rescue Me. Still, that thing about season 5 is weird. Warner Bros. still pushing a dead format.

Clearly we're dealing with idiots (Warner that is)....how can people not accept the fact that the consumer demands Blu now?

It's not actually coming out on HD-DVD, I think they just made some kind of mistake on their website. It is odd though.

Nip/Tuck season 4 was one of my first Blu-ray's. Great show and a fantastic Blu-ray release!

Been waiting for seasons 1-3 as well...

The same goes for The Sopranos seasons 1-5. I see that season 1 has been announced for some time now, without a date.

Tv shows are still a very tough sell at this stage of the format's growth. Disappointing though that a series was orphaned on Blu-ray though.

If they released the first three seasons on Blu, I'd get them.

I still by television seasons on SD. I recently bought all 4 seasons of Lost on SD because my girlfriend (who had never seen the show) were running through the entire series before the new season starts and she does not have a Blu Ray player. There are too many shows that I want to see that are not out on BD yet and have no sign of being released on BD, examples include nip/tuck, six feet under, californication, and it's always sunny in Philadelphia.

despite only being called part 1 of Season 5, there are 14 episodes instead of the usual 13, so that's good news, at least.

I'm getting the SD because my parents like it, too, and they don't have HD capability yet. I've yet to get a series on BD, but I will get TRUE BLOOD which I've already seen. Fantastic show.

Usually it's only the first season of a show that lasts for 13 episodes. After that it's usually between 20-25. So expect another set to contain around 6-11 more episodes....damn writer's strike.
