Default I need help getting a blu-ray player for my dad

Howdy, folks. My father has finally decided to go blu and is looking to buy a player in the next few weeks. He wants one of the players that offers Netflix streaming and I've got a few questions about this that I hope you can help me with.

1) I believe there are currently three players that support Netflix streaming: the LG BD300, the Samsung BD-P2500, and the Samsung BD-P2550. He will probably object to the price of the Sammy 2550, so which of the other two players would you recommend?

1a) Alternatively, should I attempt to convince him to get the Roku box and a different blu-ray player?

2) Where's the best deal to be found on these players (other than eBay)?

3) His DSL modem is nowhere near his TV, but he does have a wireless network set up. Would he be better off using a second DSL modem and connecting the player via ethernet or getting a wireless network adapter and using his existing network?

4) His receiver does not have HDMI inputs (a new receiver will be his next big purchase somewhere down the line) so he will need to run HDMI directly to the TV for video and use an optical cable to the receiver for audio. Are there any kind of problems with this setup for these players?

5) He will still be watching a fair amount of DVDs; how are the upscaling capabilities of these players?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
