Default sky hd

hey, im using a 32" sony bravia in my bedroom and i wanted to get a sky dish installed in there. My parents are sky customers and we are thinking of adding a sky+ hd box in my room and i pay them the extra monthly cost, i think thats £19.50 (hd channel charge and multiroom). Are there any other sky hd users here and whether they think its worth it, my decision is motivated by having 24 season 7 in hd, but would greatly appreciate your opinions

thanks

A work colleague of mine got sky+ HD just before xmas and was very impressed with the service. I've heard a rumour that sky are bring out a new HD box soon, don't know if its true tho.

I got sky+HD just before Christmas and i know the signal is only 1080i and mabye ive been spoiled by the quality of bluray but i wasnt that impressed by the HD films on there. i own cars,ratatouille,300 and transformers all on bluray and watching them on sky HD doesnt come close, infact my girlfriend was surprised when i told her they where in HD. There was some nice looking documentrys and im looking forward to watching Lost in HD.

EDIT; sky+ is a godsend though

i ordered my sky hd box at the back end of october and had it installed this week. unless you have films or sports theirs little point in having it as the channels which are available in HD are terrible i.e. the biography channel, the arts channel etc. their is no itv in hd and the bbc hd channel only shows certain programmes in HD, again none that i would watch. the few programmes i have seen in HD do look nice i must admit. I mainly bought it cos they were only charging £75 for the box and it had a 180gb hard drive compared to the 40gb i was already using. need to see more decent channels in HD.

i was motivated mostly because 24 is being shown in hd on Sky1 hd, so thats good, but also the added pvr space over the sky+ box. I also have all the movie and sport channels so i guess i've got all of the hd channels when its fitted. I will let everyone know what i think.
