Default Buying Blu ray now has a downfall!!

All my friends and family that finally converted to blu this xmas...........

they are borrowing movies from my collection!!!

LOL, i have 9 movies currently out atm... just venting.. glad to see the enthusiasm towards blu-ray, but man...

"Hey Joe" you got 100's of movies, Can I borrow a few???

and I can't say no.. cuz I'm a nice guy.

It's cool being the "blu-ray guy" in my family/circle of friends.. but now it's time to share lol

All the bragging I've done about blu-ray movies is coming back to bite me in the buttocks!!!

Haha same thing is happing to me. I let one friend borrow a movie and I won't do it again! Not that he messed it up just that I started to have dvd flash backs of wondering where my movies are?? I think I have bought around 300 dvds and I have about 150 of them?? Not going to happen with bluray

I point blank refuse to lend CD's, DVD's or BD's to any of my family or friends. If they want to watch the film I invite them round.

i WILL NOT borrow out any movies any more. my sister in law asks us, is this your copy of The Little Mermaid?? i can't remember so i check my cabinet, yep, gone. gone for so long i forgot about it.

i ask her, where's the slip cover that it came with?? i don't remember!!!

told my wife, next time she asks to borrow movies to tell her about this b/c if i tell her how i really feel, i'm pretty sure there will be some family conflict afterwards.

I've been fairly lucky with my lending, but did have a few things not come back or come back damaged (DVDs, not Blus). I never lend out the slipcovers though - they don't need it to watch the movie so I keep them safely at home.

My Blus won't be going to as many people though. Only close friends/family (I used to lend DVDs to basically anyone that asked). Hopefully my more restrictive lending combined with Blu-ray's coating will keep my Blus safe.

this is the 3rd time she's done something like this.

CSI Season 1. the case it came in was actually broken. made her buy me a new copy. $70!!!

How I Met Your Mother Season 1. box that holds the slim dvd cases, smashed on top. didn't ***** about this b/c i just noticed it 2 nights ago, but still.

told my wife, no-one borrows my movies anymore. i'm contemplating buying new cases and "fixing" up the damaged ones from others or my daughter.

i don't understand how people can justify that crap. they borrow something of yours, that you spent money on, and they don't take care of it??

I dont loan my crap to anybody. I only have ONE friend that I trust and I will loan him anything he wants, cuz he takes care of them and respects my property. He is the same way with me, he'll pretty much let me borrow any movie or game I want cuz I have respect for other people's property and I take care of the stuff.

I require a $100 deposit that's non-refundable after 3 weeks if the movie isn't returned. So far, no one has made the deposit.

I only trust my mom, her boyfriend, and a friend of mine. Surprisingly the friend is 16 and treats his stuff better than my older friends.

Once I let a girl borrow Devil May Cry 4. She had just got an Xbox 360 and I felt like being nice. Damn I miss that game...

I love lending out my blus to friends and family. I have just one rule; if you frak it up, you replace it.

How else could my copy of The Happening been watched three time already?

I lend my movies to business partners. I just bring them good ones without being asked. They could buy their own, but I don't think they really know which movies are good. I am completely confident they would replace them if damaged.

Best to keep a little running Library list to know who's got what... I've long done that for both DVD and Blu... saved my ass a couple times
