Default Major difference between blu ray players...

What are the major differences between blu ray players? Will my Samsung 1500 have less of a picture/audio quality vs and $1000 pioneer? I understand why televisions have different quality between them but when it come to playing a video isnt 1080p, 1080p regardless of the unit.

No picture difference. Maybe a better upconversion chip for DVD or some gimmick to excuse the higher price. If you have a nice receiver there's no need to waste your money in the Pioneer.

This is what I have been thinking all along that they all pretty much have the exact same pic on Blu-ray's with some being slightly better as far as sharpness goes and such. I think the main difference is on dvd upconversion capabilities and if you want profile 2.0. I definately have my eye on the Oppo that is coming out though.

I absolutly Disagree Sorry my Friend. (Gimmick ?)

Ask Pioneer Owners.I started a thread on "Out of three players what would you choose"read what a couple of pioneer owners said

Check this out

I almost bought this one

There is a difference with the Picture in higher end players (of coures it looks better).
I found myself being more picky about my video,Where higherend model aren't for everyone.
Your 1500 gives you a nice Blu-ray picture enjoy it
Is it worth the price to go highend.Maybe not for some but for someone like myself ,Yes .But there is a difference.

I know this first hand have a Samsung 1400 ,Ps3 and Now a Yamaha Bd-S2900 .Trust me if i wasn't happy or if i didn't see a major improvement with my video i would take my player back in a heartbeat

Read the video part of the Yamaha

As long as your happy with your player and iam happy with mine then were all doing fine

thats my 2 cents

ABSOLUTELY a difference. Better VQ/AQ are a given. I can even tell a difference on a 768p TV.

Seeing is believing.

If you are unsure, just order one and find out yourself. Return it if you dont notice a diffeence.

Seeing is beliveing,
but it's hard to see it in a audio ,video store.
You do have to take it home and put in a couple of your favorite Blu movies .

Then you can say there's no diifference. But If you haven't done that then your just talking.

My friend MOPE says return it if you don't see a difference,While i spent over 700 and my player staying right where it is
