Default BD Player and BluRay Burner Compatibility

Hello --

Recently I've made some blu-ray projects with Adobe Encore CS4 and burned them onto BD-R 25 media with my LG BluRay burner. Problem is, the only thing that can play these discs back is my PS3. I've tried a few other *brand new* machines, fully firmware updated, and they won't even recognize the disc. This, of course, defeats the point of making BluRays on a consumer burner.

My questions are:

1.) Is there a list of which set-top BD players play BD's made with consumer burners?

2.) Is this a problem that will go away with future firmware updates to existing players that can't play BD-R's or is it a hardware issue?

3.) If Blu-Ray players can play back standard DVD's burned on consumer burners, WHY on earth can't they play their native format back?

4.) When BluRay recorders are (finally) introduced to the US market, will that be the turning point for playing back BD-R material?

Thanks !
