Default Sharp Aquos BD - Wall*E Problems

Hello All
I'm a relative BD Player n00b, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.
I purchased the Sharp Aquos BD-HP21U and Wall*E on Blu Ray for Boxing Day. When trying to watch Wall*E, the disc seems to freeze at the 2:55 mark in the previews and will not go any further. I've left this as long as 30 minutes thinking "maybe the load time is really long on this disc" or something. Didn't help.
I went and downloaded the latest firmware for this BD Player, which turns out *is* the latest firmware on the player when I tried to update.
I've gone and exchanged the Wall*E copy I had with a new copy, and same result at the exact same minute.

does anyone have any suggestions? i'm considering calling Sharp Support, but not sure how helpful they'll be...
