What are the newest next-gen games that are supposed to take advantage of what the PS3 can do, but the 360 can't?
My fear is that companies will just want to make "ports" of games they make for the 360, so that they can just make money from both formats (at least for now). What games are in the pipe that are supposed to blow away the 360s looks? Thanks. |

Well, from my understanding the next Metal Gear(near 30gig game), Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden sigma. You can check out www.PSU.com or ps3.ign.com for more info.
I have also heard that some of the new EA games will be optimized for the PS3 and ported to the other systems. Allot of the ports that we are now seeing are from the xBox over to PS3. Hope this helps |

I believe the next may be Ninja Gaiden Sigma (demo next Friday on Japanese PlayStation Store!), but after that a lot of SCE-published titles will be the ones to watch for.
Games like: Afrika Eight Days Factor 5 Project #2 Getaway Gran Turismo 5 Heavenly Sword ICO & SotC Team Game Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier Killzone 2 Lair Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction Uncharted: Drake's Fortune White Knight Story WipEout All of these ought to have particularly impressive game engines built for the ground up for the PS3. Then there's MGS4 of course and Burnout 5 if Alex Ward and some other guy from Criterion are to be believed. Last edited by Shin-Ra; 04-21-2007 at 03:06 AM. |

Better ports
1. Oblivion - better then the 360 in terms of graphics, farthur distance, less loading time... 2. Fight Night Round 3 - boxers are more detailed then the 360. Exclusives 1. Resistance: Fall of Man - insane amount of things going at once without slowdowns. Never seen this done on the 360. 2. Motorstorm - realistic physics utilizing the Cell processor, again lots of things going on without slowdowns. very detailed driving game, tracks on the muds, dirt splashing on the camera, etc... 3. Gran Turismo HD (free) - the most realistic driving simulation game ever, graphics look photo realism, cars drive so real thanks to Cell processor, 60 fps with no slowdowns... 1080p 4. Ridge Racer 7 - graphics look extremely detailed in 1080p, no pop-ups with really far distance viewing, 60 fps... PS Store (most games are 1080p) 1. Blast Factor - everything is an object in the game, nothing goes through each other, bullets flying off objects, utitlize the Sixaxis controller... 2. Flow - relaxing game to play, very simple, 4 players can play, uses Sixaxis... |

Lair for sure because the company said that what happens in lair is only possible on the playstation 3. Resistence, motorstorm and ridge racer 7 I would agree on.

I'm not familar with gears of war. At E3 2005, one of the sony executives, not Ken, Kaz or Phil, someone else, mentioned that the cell CPU could simulate wool, water and other textures. It seems like we have yet to see any ps3 game that truely takes advantage of the hardware other then Resistence or Ridge Racer 7.

I wonder about strangehold and lair? Both of those seem really detailed. It seems that the ps3 is not only about detail, but what you can do with the detail.

the only reason gears looks that good is because of the unreal 3 engine that streams data very well
http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-32115.aspx read this article - theres a part where the dev talks about gears & RFOM and state why gears looks as good as it does i also heard that gears is using 95% of the xbox power and if that is the case im glad i aint a xbox owner because if thats the best it could do then i feel sorry for those ppl |

Big advantage for PS3 are Final Fantasy Series.
Off-Topic: Best games for PS3 in my opinion. Elder Scrolls IV for now. (Over 100 hours game playing) I have been playing more than 101 hours on xbox 360 verison. I am also look forward playing Elder Scrolls IV again on PS3. Also, some good games that you may consider: Motorstorm NCAA Football 08 (it come out this July 2007) NHL 2k7 (If you are hockey fan) Later, it will be Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Versus.
