Default Rush, Snakes and no bass?

Seeing how I've been a Rush fan for ever, Snakes and Ladders(BD) was a day one buy.
All is great with it except for a near total lack of deep bass?
Anyone else experience this?
I wonder if the DTS HD track which my reciever can't decode is the root of this? Perhaps the disc doesn't have the core DTS track?
My receiver does DTS very well but not with this release.

Thoughts?

Well, either your receiver or your player should be telling you what codec its using. DTS-HD MA by default carries the core DTS track though, so it should definitely have it.

As far as the quality of said track, since I don't have it I can't comment.

It sounded great on mine, didn't notice a lack of bass at all. I have my bass turned down low though because of condo living.

I had to turn my bass all the way up for this. Good show but I think weak bass as well.

the police concert was the oppisite, had to turn it down three times

Several things. All Dts-HD Master Audio tracks have a Dts core track. That is the very foundation of the codec, and the basis of its backward compatibility.

You have a VERY good sub woofer, so I do not know why you feel you are not getting any deep bass. I did the review of this disc for this site, and I found no issues of lack of deep bass. According to my RTA's in my system, it extended at periods down to the lowest note on the bass guitar(which is about 42hz). It doesn't get much lower than the bass, and it doesn't go any lower on the recording. Unlike a lot of Bluray rock video disc, the upper bass frequencies (between 40-80hz) on this disc are not pushed in the LFE. Its pretty flat, and that can give the perception of a lack of deep bass. Plus, this disc had a pretty flat upper end(between 10-20khz, so it was a little bright sounding, and that can also give the impression of a lack of deep bass, especially combined with the former.

I was about to comment on the lack of bass on that same disc, it does have bass but not overboosted.. the sound quality is good but I find it lacks warmth compared to other bd music discs I own. What I do like is I can hear Geddy Lees bass guitar playing its not drowned out like a lot of other bass players music. He has lost his edge on the high notes but man the guy plays a mean bass guitar. Id love it if they redid Exit Stage Left and released it on blu.

I've been using this Blu-ray to set up my speakers. Subdivisions is a song that I know VERY well as I've listened to it probably 100s of times since I was a teenager. This is such a great band! It's amazing going from older DD Blu-rays to this, and hearing the difference in codecs and just care put forth on creating the Blu-ray.

Now if only my subwoofer would get here so I can replace the horrid one I have! Stuck in customs right now. *sigh*

Default No Kick Drum

This Blu-ray is lacking low-end. I can barely hear any kick drum and the bass guitar is present but lacking in the lower register. Ive tried everything but it is the disc, not my gear. I was really excited to hear this concert and I was disappointed, not in the performance or video quality, but the audio quality.

I know this is really late, but I've gotten my subwoofer all set up, and I definately hear low notes. I can hear the drums, guitar, and bass very distinctly and seperately. The bass playing sounds beautiful and deep for me.
