I couldn't help feeling this was slightly more ribald (and violent/depressing) than the previous shorts and even the film. I don't know if I like that or not. It's still fine for kids, of course, but that was the feeling that I got.

Still, it was very funny and I enjoyed it immensely. I'm surprised Sallis is still going well into his 80s.

I wonder if the Blu-ray will be region-free (I bet not). I also hope they release the other three shorts and film on Blu-ray soon.

I have to agree with this a bit... I love the "old" shorts, and enjoyed the movie as well. My hopes were high when I sat down to watch A Matter Of Loaf And Death. But it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

It had it's moments, but I'd put on Wrong Trousers any day before this...

Wall and Grommit on Blu-ray - I can't wait! I did enjoy this but it seems a bit expensive for a half-hour short...

I thought that this website (blu-ray.com) states it Region B only... if it's wrong, great I'll order it!

You know this is encoded in 1080i, right? Looked at the back in the shop.

Just curious, what type of audio does it have? Mine just shipped today, but I won't get it for about a week.

According to Blurayregioncodes.com, it is 1080i50, region free.

I just got this in yesterday and watched it. First, I was suprised to see it had TrueHD 5.1 audio. On top of that, the movie looked incredible! I wasn't expecting it to look that nice. The 3D pop was incredible and the level of detail was very high.

Bring on Curse of the Wererabbit!

This wouldn't play in my ps3. so I don't think it is region free. really good movie though.

It is region free. It is 1080i50 (PAL), so it won't play in region A PS3's.

Had my copy since 20th March and it only cost me £9.99 from HMV.co.uk (and it came with a free fridge magnet).

I really enjoyed the film and it looks great on Blu. Not my all time favorite W&G, but still a good film.

I note one post about Peter Sallis, it's great that he is still contributing to the W&G films at 80+. I have read that he is suffering with macular degeneration though.

If you are a W&G fan, this is a no brainer purchase in my opinion.

So disappointing--how difficult would it be for Sony to add PAL to the region A PS3?! Even a cheap $20 DVD player can!
