Maybe you need glasses or need to get your display calibrated. Honestly, it shouldn't be that bad.

I still watch DVDs all the time and they aren't near as good, but they don't cause me physical pain. I'd go see an eye doctor.

DVD'S are fine, but I have been spoiled by Blu-Ray so I don't watch DVD'S anymore and got rid of most of my collection.

You'll be sorry when some of those don't come out for years or ever.

I got rid of some, but very little Extended Cuts exist on Blu and in that case you'll be sorry.

ok, well I'm not actually talking about physical eye pain... , but I popped in the 1st Amityville Horror(1979) on dvd and the PQ was so bad I had to turn it off and put on a blu. I've got a 50" TV so it probably looks worse than a 32"...but none the less........what I'm trying to say is than when you get used to blu-ray....its hard to go back to dvd....especially the bad transfers

I hear this a lot. Why would they not come out on BD? I mean it took awhile for some titles to get released on DVD, so why wouldn't the movies eventually get released. It's not like Blu-Ray is limited and they are going to take it off the market in 2 years.

So far I am only getting rid of the DVDs I re buy on Blu. Even though I don't watch them on DVD. But I feel in the years to come I will have my whole DVD library replaced on Blu.

There's no guarantee that there won't be a new technology or that downloads might take over. As much as I hate to think that. It could happen.

After year 2 dvd had roughly 5000 titles available. BD has a lot of catching up to do. Hell, there's still some movies that haven't even made it to DVD.

I'm slowly replacing my DVDs with BDs also, but usually only when they're on sale or it's an absolute must have movie.

I'm almost upset to watch a dvd if a BD exists for it. It's like settling. Ew x.x.

You were probably squiting constantly trying to find the detail and richness of color that is not there .

Agreed, upscaled DVD's don't look that bad.
