Default newbe needs help on blu ray player

Im trying to decide on a new(first) blu-ray player. Either the panasonic 35 or 55.I have an older yamaha 6.1 receiver, non hdmi. My main question is will I really notice a difference if i get the 35 and connect it via optical audio. as compared to buying the 55 and using the 5.1 analog. Thanks for any input

DD and DTS are encoded at high bit rates on BD and sound great. In my experience, they rival lossless.

Thanks BIslander. so would you save the extra $100.00 and get the 35. It also seems not many bd movies are encoded with dolby or dts hd, is that true.

please just stay away from all the cheap, value players. when it comes to blu-ray, you get what you pay for. name brand!

I have to agree wiht that escpically wiht the newer titles. and those cataloge titles that are just now coming out on Blu. ALOT of them are featuring DTS-M. or somting simialr to that.
