Default My Bloody Valentine 3D review thread

Just watched this tonight. They had a early 10pm screening.

The Negative...

The story aspect was actually more entertaining and involving in the original. The real Valentine Day aspect of the original is really missing in the remake. To me, that is what made the original one stick out. Was hoping for a bit more from the 3D scenes.

The Positive....

Even though I was hoping for more from the 3D, the 3D still rocks. Not just as a gimmick but added over all depth to the film as well. Thank God someone decided to put some awesome naked chic running for her life back on the big screen. Best nudity on screen in a horror film in quite some time. The kills was way better in the remake. I dug the ending.

So Recap...Story is just thrown at you and not very involving...the Valentine aspect is not really used as well as it was in the original. The kills was way better this time thou. The 3D does add to the film and really is the only way to watch this movie. The movie wouldn't be very good without the 3D element. It's a fun mindless night of gory entertainment. Watch it in 3D or not at all.

i thought it was really good. i agree - the 3D adds to the effect really well...gets audience involved.

Im not ogign to spoil it for everyone about the ending...but i will say that i ll be buying it on blu when it comes out. It was a chilling edgy flick. The kills were just;....

SENSATIONAL!

I saw one about the Rotten Tomatoes Meter for the movie... didn't see one for the average horror fans thoughts on this film.

What a critic thinks and what "We" the people think is a totally different topic in my opinion. If there is one for non Rotten Tomatoes thoughts and opinions I must of missed it.

In two weeks I'm seeing either this or Underworld 3

Has anyone seen both? Have an opinion on which one is more worth seeing on the big screen?

There was one about a dude saying he just go back from it and his reactions. Thirty people responded the last I heard about it.

Not great, but good.
Just got back from a screening that started at 12:20.
10:15 was all sold out when we got there at 9:30.

This is def. one that lives and dies (no pun intended) with seeing it in the theater. It is the only way.

I saw it last night with a 3/4 full theater.

I found it enjoyable. Not great, but fun. And yes, the 3D added to the enjoyment factor. Good gore/kills, nice nude scene, good 3D effects. The audience was screaming, laughing, and really into it. It was a fun way to kill 90 minutes.

Okay I just saw this again last night with an even larger crowd. The crowd factor seems to also help with the enjoyment.

Also they did something awesome at the theater I was at. Some dude was hidden in the theater dressed as the Killer Miner! Right after the hospital scene in the beginning the dude stood up and turned on his miner hat light and started walking down the aisles. He was swinging his pick ax and pointing it at people. I didn't know what was going on at first cause everyone behind me was screaming their lungs out. I turned around and there he was! It was awesome and everyone started laughing and he walked out of the theater.

Saw it last night, was a lot of fun!
3D effects coming out of the screen were well done, but the depth in the picture everywhere else really worked. If your a fan of slasher movies you won't be disappointed some crazy death scenes going on.

just got back about 10 minutes ago...thought Id go to the first showing of the day and catch it.....it was about me and 6 other people.....but still, the movie kicked ass!.....THe 3D was flying off the screen, It made me jump during one scene in the beginning during one particular Kill scene...lol.....THe nudity was top notch, hot body...meeoowww! Full Frontal too, wasnt expecting that....did anyone notice the carpet not matching the drapes?....anyways, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves the slashers like Friday the 13th, etc.....glad to see the F13 trailor before the movie (I wish that was in 3D as well ).....hopefully this movie does really well (which I think it has so the studios turn out more movies like this....3D and Horror were made for each other).

DId anyone catch the Jason joke in the beginning? I think I was the only one that laughed out of the 7 others....lol
