Default Onkyo 606 and Blu-Ray

How do I get the 606 to decode the truehd audio? Do I want set the Bluray player to Bitstream or PCM? Do these thing have anything to do with each other??? I am soo new at this, and so confused!

Thanks

I believe you would want to bitstream the audio, that means it just sends the raw signal to the reciever. If you put it on PCM then it decodes the signal first.

Since the DMP-BD30 doesn't decode HD audio, you HAVE to set your player to bitstream it to the 606. The 606 will then take and decode the audio (a good thing). If its set up correctly you should see "TrueHD" or "DTS-HD MA" on the receiver if you've done it correctly.
