Hello all - I have just a couple questions about Amazon.ca imports for those of you with some experience with them:
1) Do I have to create a new account/username/password (I already have an Amazon.com account)? 2) What is the current exchange rate? For example, a $16.99 CDN BD would cost me how much in US Dollars? 3) I've heard of Kill Bill, From Dusk Til Dawn, Freddy vs Jason and Sin City as Amazon.ca import recommendations, so I assume they will all play in my US PS3. Any other import recommendations from Canada? 4) Finally, what will shipping cost per title (is it much higher than the 2.98 I am used to)? Do they include free shipping for orders over a certain amount? Thanks! |

Currency conversion... http://finance.yahoo.com/currency-co...submit=convert Personally, I'd hold out on Kill Bill. Check the Movie forum for news of "The Whole Bloody Affair". Amazon.ca says shipping is free on all orders above $40 CDN. |

Ouch, yeah, sorry. I assumed shipping would be free anywhere.
$8 for 1 title! There's the catch. Ridiculous. Last edited by JamesKurtovich; 01-22-2009 at 06:53 PM. |

For Americans, it makes sense to order multiple titles at once from Amazon.ca. Multiple BDs do not really cost anything more to ship than one BD. If you are going to import, getting three or more at the same time usually makes the best sense.

hmm, I got an email saying they had a problem processing the same card I use at amazon.com.
I asked them to retry the card twice with same results, then their customer service wouldn't answer, goes straight to a generic voicemail so I canceled and ordered it through amazon.com(using the same problematic card) which worked out to be $16(shipped) because I forgot I still had some funds left on my gift card. yay ![]() |
