Default Trouble with Panasonic BMP-BD-55 audio

I recently bought a Panasonic Blu Ray player and Panasonic Plasma TV. They are connected with a HDMI cable with a digital coaxial audio cable going to a sony amp (my amp doesn't have HDMI connections). On most blu rays and DVDs everything is fine. One a few movies (both in blu ray and DVD format) I have some issues with no sound. During the movie top menu and previews, the sound is fine. But when the movie itself starts, no audio at all.
During one blu ray movie, I did get sound when I was scanning forward in the movie at 1.5x speed, but not at normal speed.

I have downloaded the latest firmware update.

Because I get sound out of some movies, I don't think it is a connection issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
