Default Trigger connection

Can someone tell me about setting up a trigger connection between my Yamaha receiver and a amp? Do I just plug in a 1/8" mono cable and it will work? Unfortuntely doing a search here for trigger gets 100's of posts of people ready to pull the trigger.. which I already did and bought a Emotiva amp...

I did find a copy of receiver manager for my Yamaha and noticed I can change all to HI or LOW...do I need to change anything or just leave it like it is

Thanks in advance
