Default Can you recomend a good receiver!

I currently have an onkyo 801 receiver at home, I listen to more music than anything.
I have eosone RSF-1000s in the front and infinity oveture 1 for a center
No surrounds, I just pref to listen to music with the front 3 speakers.
My problem is the onkyo does not have a 3 channel mode so im listening to my music in DPL ll/music right now.
I would like to buy a receiver to play just music on, somewhere around 500-1000$, and use the same speakers.
Im not sure if using my receiver this way is getting me what I want, im not sure if im missing out on something by listening to it in this mode.
Am i cutting the quality of the music by doing this?
If you have any suggestions, or can tell me a better way to use the onkyo please let me know

I can't figure out why you want to listen to music in 3 channel mode.

Music should be played in 2 channels, unless you are playing DVD-Audio or Multichannel-SACD. In that case, the whole point is to have all 5.1 speakers.

Your infinity doesn't match the RSF-1000s anyway. Take it out of the system & enjoy some good old-fashioned stereo.

Not trying to insult anyone, just my opinion.

Iwould have to agree with wdhays, lose the center that probably has a different timbre and rock the eosones in stereo. It'll sound better i bet.
