FEAR 2...Played it? - Blu-ray Forum

Bought this game last night and having some regrets after reading the Eurogamer(??) review of it. IGN and PS mag. gave it 8/10, but I was wondering if anyone here has played it and what they thought before I open mine.

i only played the demo but unfortunately i didn't enjoy it very much

not saying that it's a bad game or anything, but it just wasn't to my liking (i think i expected too much from it).

F.E.A.R is like a trophy wife. Looks great but extremely dull and boring.

have you tried the psn demo yet? if not you should probably give it a go if you're on the fence about keeping the game.

I'm going to be getting it later on down the road. After Killzone 2 there doesn't seem to be much on the way of releases I want. I'll get FEAR 2 in a few months during that dry spell.

I really liked the demo!

I am about 4 hours into the game and I think it is spectacular.

Pros -

A lot more understanding of what is going on compared to part 1
The game is getting better and better as I play (the demo didn't show anything)
Good story telling and scared me a few times
Haven't seen a hickup yet or problem
AI is some of the best I have seen

Cons -
A bit of slowness on my PS3 in a few big battles
I am playing on normal difficulty and it seems to be extremely difficult... not a con always but on insane I don't think I could do this game

If you like FPS games then pick it up or at least rent it. GREAT GAME.

I loved the first one, and the second is supposed to be better, I will be picking this up down the road.

Insane game. I own the 360 version, no slowdown, no graphical hitches. 92% IMO

It doesn't even look great. Now the original FEAR (for PC) was awesome. Looked great, played great and had a cool atmosphere (plus who can really be against fighting swat teams)?

i agree - the graphics look pretty mediocre, but that may be due to kz2 setting the bar pretty high.

Normally I'd play this kind of game on PC, but I just got a rental copy from gamefly to try out first before I buy. 2 hours into it, I like it so far. It's a straight shooter thus far (which I prefer), and the graphics remind me of Rainbow Six: Vegas. Gamespot gave it a 7/10 which usually translates to an 8 or 8.5 for me, and so far I give it at an 8/10.
