Default Changing TVs with PS3?

Hi.

My dad wants me to come over to his house and watch Band of brothers.

I have it on Blu-Ray (its awesome)

Well he hasnt made the Blu-Ray switch yet. i have a newer 52 "1080p lcd.

He has a older 65" dlp

i have hdmi hooked up on mine. but i think i may need to use component cables on his tv not sure.

A guy at work told me its a pain moving the ps3 from tv to tv...because you have to reconfigure everything n all that...

Just wondering if youve moved yours and was it such a big deal?

I'll be bringing the ps3 right back later that night..

Heck im not sure how good the picture will look on his tv tho either....

Should i just rent the dvd of band of brothers?

This is one of the only weekends me and my dad have the same days off..
And my gf has her friends over here and there kids...so its not a good "band of brothers enviroment" if you know what i mean lol.

Thanks for any help and info.

When you hook-up to component, you have to hold the power button down when you turn it on till it beeps again. Then go change your settings. It should auto detect when you hook it back up to HDMI. Its not that big of a deal.

as hedchekr mentioned above, it is really easy to do. just remember to repeat the step when you're hooking it back up to your tv set.

edit: in case theres any confusion, here is the procedure (pulled from http://www.portfolioofpb.com/blog/ps...posite-to-hdmi:

I ran across this problem when moving my Playstation 3 from my parents house to my house. I don't have an HD-TV(yet!!). So when I brough it over from my parents house (who have HDMI), to my TV (composite connection), the TV would just be blank.

This was because I had set the PS3 to output HDMI at my parents house, but forgotten to switch it to composite before bring it over to my house. So driving blind, I would never be able to find the menu to reset it.

By Sony had already though of this problem and there is an easy solution:

Make sure the system is off.
Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.
That's it, your video settings are reset and you should be able to choose your input and configure it from there.
Simple!!

I'm not sure if this issue has been fixed with a firmware update, but I first set up my PS3 with components, then later switched to HDMI. When I did this the PS3 only displayed a black screen and I had to blindly navigate my way through the XMB to switch it to the proper setting.

Maybe someone can confirm that a firmware update has fixed this as I'm almost positive it has been corrected.

what he said, i used to do this all the time with my tv/projector (component/hdmi) i only had one hdmi cable at the time, so i kept the component connected to my tv. then i said screw it and left the ps3 connected to my projector, im just dealing with the fact ill have to blow 300 bucks on a bulb every so often.
