onkyo 606 remote control - Blu-ray Forum

I just bought the last onkyo 606 receiver from circuit city. It was the display one and didn't come in a box. it came with a bag with all the instructions and mic and everything but no controller. Does anyone know how i would go about getting one. It's really annoying having to get up everytime i want to change the volume. or does anyone know if i can use my blu-ray remote or my tv remote to control the volume on the reciever? thanks.

Hey you can get a harmony 520 refurb-$39.99 -from ebay just add the device-brand- and mod# hope it helps

Any learning or universal remote should work. I've got my cheapie Sony universal remote set so that volume ONLY controls the volume on my 605. The biggest problem you're going to have is that one of the existing codes has to work since you don't have a remote. Alternatively you could call Onkyo and order one.

There are some setup and menu functions that I feel work best with the original remote.

Replacement remotes from most manufacturers will set you back abotu $50, remotes.com I think is a website that sells remotes. I've had the most trouble with universal remotes working my AVR's in the past, the power codes just don't work but I can find one that will work the volume though

But my Harmony 880 works like a charm
