Im looking to get a 67 or 61 in DLP Samsung HDTV and both weight under 100lbs. Based on these two models does anyone know if they can withstand 100lbs? Or does anybody have any of thes models or has a seperate recommendation on a stand to use. These are around the 250 mark which is where I want to stay......

I have that bottom South Shore stand, and it can definitly withstand well over 100 lbs on the top. I can be very confident of this, as my old TV used to leave enough room on the sides for me to sit. And I would. And since I think that old tube weighed almost 60 pounds, and I'm more than 40 pounds, you should be good!
Just as a sidenote, though, I found that the pre-cut holes for cable management in the back are way too small if you run wires to an audio receiver. but they are fairly easy to enlarge. Also, depending on the size of your AV Receiver, if you have one, you will most likely need to keep one glass door open, so as to get a decent amount of ventilation to it. My receiver gets about 3 inches of clearance only, but it does not get overly hot with the door open. |

Thanks for the input guys. For the second poster i think i might go with the bottom one then, just because it looks classier ha-ha. I have a big receiver now part of a Sony Home Theatre but im buying a new Samsung one which makes it smaller and will fit in there hopefully. Ill have my Xbox, Receiver, Cable Box, Blu-ray to fit in there but i want a closed one because dust clings like hell to it. So I/m gonna turn em all off at night and close it up so i don't have to clean it every 24 hrs ha-ha
If anyone has any other comments or suggestions Ill gladly appreciate them. I got a week to make a decision so keep em coming ha-ha |
