Default Most Prized (Non-Living) Possession

So don't say your significant other, or your dog, or your bonsai tree.

But what's that one thing you just can't get rid of, or if your house was on fire, and your family/pets were safe, what's the one thing you'd go back in to save?

I admit I started this thread just to see what other peoples' answers were, because I don't really have anything to list as an example for myself.

I'm fairly young, so I imagine over time I might gather more stuff that I'll attach some value to, but right now I don't care too much about throwing/giving things away.

A few things that come close (that I probably won't part with):

-my piano (I still have the same piano I had as a kid, and I imagine I'll keep taking it with me wherever I go/move)

-a bottle of sand from Iraq (after graduating from high school, I went off to college, and my best friend went off to the Marines; a few months later he was off to Iraq, and he randomly sent me a small bottle filled with sand one day, which I still keep on my desk)

the only family "heirloom," if u will, that i have is my grandfather's hunting rifle, which i still use.

i actually haven't missed a deer w/it since he passed away 4 1/2 years ago.

i'd be willing to go back in for that.

otherwise i'd grab the cd case full of burned cd's that contain all of the pictures of me & my wife since we got together 8 years ago and also have pix of my kids on them.

Though I am rather materialistic I don't truly treasure anything. If my house were to burn down there is not any certain thing I couldn't replace (other than my dog, but he is excluded from this thread).

Hope this doesn't sound corny, but the only possession I would be truly devastated to lose would be my wedding ring.

I have never taken mine off. Only once during the reception to show a friend the inscription. After that nope. Even during dishes and other things. It stays on pretty good.

I bet when you do take it off, there is a indent on your finger. My dad's indent almost seems permanent

I lost mine on our honeymoon.... and never replaced it. I don't wear one, my dad doesn't wear one...... I guess people find it "odd" but I'm a golfer.... I can't wear a ring!

As far as what I'd pick, I would say the wedding albums, but the photographer can always reproduce those if you call them..... and honestly, I can't think of one thing that is the big "Must Keep" I'd grab the digital camera or laptop maybe in case there are photos that haven't been uploaded to shutterfly yet

My uncle sent me a twenty some years back for Christmas and died that same Christmas day. I just keep it in my wallet. I'll probably never spend it.

My wedding band is a little on the loose side, which I've been meaning to have sized for about 2.5 years now. I am also a lefty, so for stuff like playing darts, football and other such sports, I have to take it off. I have "thrown my ring off" a number of times.

I also like to take it off for stuff like doing dishes, cleaning chicken, working around the house, etc.

I don't get any flack for it, but I really do need to get it sized. Maybe next year...

The 1974 admission ticket to watch my band "The Soul Experience II" play at our high school prom. I was the bass player in the band and that was a night to remember. I am class of 75, but there was one senior girl that made being in a band priceless.

I have a pillow that my mother knitted the picture on it. It's one of the few childhood things I have left after moving around quite a lot.

Pictures, pictures of me as a kid, of my family, grand parents, uncles, aunts....pictures.

All of these can never be replace, I cannot get pics of my grand parents anymore as they are no longer with me. If I were to lose all of those pictures of my family I would be very sad.
