I have an onkyo 606 t90 fronts rt 400 srr and a cs2.
I have the fronts bi amped. Right now I am running it like this. fronts 40 cs2 80 srr 40 sub 80 It just dosent seem warm enough. I had the cs2 set on 60 but it sounded as though the voice (mens voices) were distorting, could have been just me. |

As a general rule you'll want to give 10-20hz from the spec sheets for rolloff so you don't end up with audio holes. |

Fixed on speaker size, but the receiver does have variable crossover settings for the individual speakers. I have the sub set all the way open (on the sub amp itself) |

I would recommend setting all speakers to 80hz, by doing this all speakers bellow 80'z are being sent to the sub, this will produce a more even bass, and you will be using the sub how it was intended to be used.
By individually setting each speaker to different crossovers you can actually produce overtones, this is caused by the different bass frequencies being produced by different speakers and clashing with each other and can make a muddy sound or even cancel out certain frequency range. Setting different crossovers is more for advanced users who know how to fix this problem. It's always recommended to set all speakers at 80hz this usually produces the best sound for Movie watching, now for listening to music this theory can go right out the window. |

The crossover on the back of sub should always be at the highest setting, setting your crossover on the receiver to 80hz for all the speakers sets the sub to handle everything at 80hz and under. You should never set the crossover on the sub itself unless your receiver can't set crossovers for your speakers.

this could be the case with the Onkyo, i'm not that familiar with the 605. From experience it should be set at 80hz.
