Guys the US disc is region free!! and has alot of cool extras on it. My copy came this morning gonna watch it tonight.

No, that's for the US version. I want to know if the UK version is region free. I don't like the US cover and UK version is also cheaper than the US version (even for me in the US including shipping cost).

I believe the US and UK share the same version. It should be exactly the same version. It was mentioned in the press releases on dvdtimes/dvdanswers

The UK release is indeed the same as the US release.

Are the captions for locations that are used burnt in or are they player genereated?

While I'm asking, I'm guessing that anyone with this film will have Hannibal, Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising...do their location captions appear burnt in or player generated too?

I've heard that the print quality for this isn't that much better than the previous DVD edition, is this correct? Also is it possible that this might be remastered in the future by Fox, similar to TGTBATU, Rain Man and Fargo?

We were hoping that it would be part of the MGM 90th Anniversary remasters which a few titles have had (like the ones you mentioned), I think Robocop and The Terminator were part of that.

I think the BD is a nice upgrade from what I've seen but it's a slightly dated master. The DVD is surprisingly good upscaled even after the dodgy start with the logos at the beginning.

Will probably have to insert the old disc into this version (which came today).

The blu-ray is Region B only. Their 4K disc is region-free, though, obvioulsy.

Thanks! I was interested in both if it had been region A compatible but I couldn't find verification enough to satisfy me anywhere. I appreciate it!
