Hardware otherwise to be identical to the European release (no emotion chip). This is probably indicative of which direction Sony's going to go when they switch out the US/Asia/JP models later on. They might even go for a bigger drive than 80GB depending on what kind of volume pricing they can get.

I would imagine larger hard drives will become the norm as smaller ones become unavailable. After all, who would want less storage space? Oh yeah, that's right, HD DVD would.
