Default Scratch repair (pz85u)

Upon arriving home from work today, I was met with new little fingerprints all over my tv (46pz85u). My wife and I have been having a hard time discouraging our 22 month old from touching the tv. I began to clean them off and discovered that not only were there fingerprints, but he had also scratched the screen. The scratches are very narrow and not really visible beyond a few feet away when the tv is off, but when it is on, it interferes with lighter colored images and can be seen from 7-8 feet away.

How do I get rid of or reduce these scratches? One is approximately two-three inches long and the other is about 3/4 of an inch long. The long one is actually a good bit longer (maybe 6-7 inches in total length) but only 2-3 inches of it is deep enough to actually be noticable.

Is there some sort of glass polish that could fix these? Is the reflection reducing coating on top of the glass and that is what is actually scratched? If it's the coating, how does one fix that?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

unfortunately there is no way to fix this. There have been many incidents like this posted on here before. Anything you apply to the screen could make it much worse and could destroy more of the coating on the glass. I would first suggest you contact Panny and see what they say. I would hate for you to do something else to it if it might be something they might cover under a warranty and so on
